Koh Kho Khao Island lies off the coast of Takuapa and only a few kilometres North of Khaolak. Koh Kor Kao Island's western coast is lined by Casuarina trees and endless beaches, while the interior is covered by savannah. Some rare animals inhabit Kho Koh Kao Island, and sea turtles lay their eggs in the sand of the remote beaches. Koh Koh Khao Island is well developed with surfaced roads and a car ferry to cross the few hundred metres wide canal, which separates Ko Koh Khao Island from the mainland.

The Tacola Resort and Spa is located on Koh Kho Khao Island and occupies 700 metres panoramic beachfront with 103 sea-view deluxe rooms, spa villas and pool villas, pavilions and pool pavilions.
